Genting Highlands : Mountain of Food

Food! Glorious food! If you're a Malaysian, most probably you live to eat instead of the other way round. We are blessed with varieties of food because we have a melting pot of cultures here. Now let's have a look at what's cooking in Genting's pot.

Go Oriental and feast like an Emperor at VIP Restaurant, Elite Palace Restaurant and Genting Palace Restaurant. The Tom Yam King Prawns in the VIP Restaurant is heavenly but sadly access is only for Gold and Platinum Genting WorldCard members. Fret not my hungry people, the other two is open to public and have such good varieties that you'll be spoilt for choice. The claypot braised garoupa and the steamed scallop with bean curd from Elite Palace is a must try!! As for Genting Palace, I love their Dim Sum. Haven't tried their other dishes yet so far. In a nutshell, these 3 restaurants are truly fit for a King.

Genting Highlands : Dedication to RWG

All photos are made up of coloured R, W and G alphabets which stands for Resorts World Genting. They are uploaded as images instead of being pasted here because blogspot only allows up to 48 characters per row and these images are made up of 175-200 characters per row. A lower character per row would blur out the images and make it incomprehensible.

Genting Highlands : Flora & Fauna

Many wouldn’t think of flora and fauna when the word ‘Genting Highlands’ is mentioned. Thoughts of hotels and theme parks would come pouring through.

In fact, the highland resort is surrounded by lush green forest and sits on the Titiwangsa mountain range. Nature lovers would be delighted to know that the pristine rain forest surrounding Genting Highlands is 130 million years old. A forest that old will of course have a secret or two. Do some jungle trekking to look for it but don’t go thinking it will be a walk in the park. In fact, it will be more like an episode out of ‘Man vs Wild’. Leeches, slippery rocks, treacherous rapids and wild boars are just a number of the challenges you’ll be facing. Temperatures will drop rapidly (As if it’s not cold enough at the current temperature.)  when the sun sets as this forest is situated 3000 feet above sea level. You have been warned. Take all the precautionary measures or trekking with a guide or both will reward you with breathtaking views, spectacular waterfalls and if you’re lucky, an undocumented plant or animal species.

“Orchid lah!”, spouted the little boy at his dad. Impress your family and friends with your orchid knowledge or simply feast your eyes at the variety of orchid available at the World Of Phalaenopsis Orchid Farm. Now what is this ‘Phalaenopsis’ you speak of? It is a type of orchid which is also known as the Moth orchid. With over 400 species of orchids being grown here, this farm is easily the largest orchid nursery here in Malaysia. With the gentle, cool breeze and the sweet scent from the orchids, I’m sure the garden gnome would love it here.

Genting Highlands : Theme Park

Looking to escape our sweltering local weather this coming holiday season? Head on up to Genting Highlands. Not only can you escape from the hot and humid weather, there’s also fun to be had at the peak. Young ones and the ones young at heart will be kept entertained for hours on end.

Behold The Spinner!

Fancy getting your pulse racing and adrenaline pumping? Then the thrill rides will satisfy the adrenaline junky in you. The Corkscrew will bring you on a journey of speed and excitement through multiple sudden drops, sharp bends and the trademark 360 degree loop. Race your friends and feed your need for speed in the Grand Prix Fun Kart. Get your nerves in a bundle as you wait in anticipation for the free-fall-down-to-earth-only-to-be-stopped-at-the-last-second moment on the Space Shot. Settle all disputes with your brother or sister for using your toy without your permission with a Bumper Boat battle. Get a spinner’s eye-view of Genting when you go for a ride on a flying chair of the Spinner. Swagger like Jack Sparrow (He believes that there is a Captain somewhere in there) as you climb on board the Pirate Ship.
